175 Birthday Cake

The Main Well, designed by Joy Mason, took its theme from Genesis Chapter 1 - "and God saw that it was good". The various frames depict scenes from the Creation including the first sunrise, the tree of life, a prancing zebra, a curious giraffe, brilliant birds and a whole zoo of creepy crawly reptiles all set in the Garden of Eden.

The Children's Well celebrated the 175th birthday of Stoney Middleton School with a sponge Birthday Cake in the shape of the school with a pink icing roof and red cherry chimneys topped out with 175 candles. The children skipping in the playground are in Victorian and modern dress and are watched by Queens Victoria and Elizabeth II.

Morning is Broken

The Well in the Bath Gardens - "Morning has Broken" is designed by Jill Askey who took her inspiration from a stained glass window in the Chapel of the Maria Domenica Brun Barbantini Nursing Home in Lucca, Italy.

After the opening the crowd enjoyed the energetic Maypole Dancing by the very young school children trained and led by the new infant's teacher Laura Inglis.
